Those same Fridays and Saturdays will also be treated to $2 hot dogs and snacks, plus live music from a band or DJ to get the party started.

Sean Moore, the Twins' EVP & CRO, explained the thought process behind this exciting new strategy. Early in the offseason, the Twins assembled a dedicated team of their most fan-centric staff. Their mission? To understand exactly where fans stood and identify areas for improvement. The outcome of this deep dive was a comprehensive list of initiatives, now proudly part of their 'No Place Like Here' campaign for the 2026 season, with the $2 beer promo leading the charge.

“It might sound straightforward, but it’s a significant stride in demonstrating that a day at the ballpark can be accessible, offer great value, and be enjoyable for everyone,” Moore shared with SBJ. “We wanted to send a very clear message: we’re listening, and we’re absolutely committed to making the Target Field experience outstanding.”

He continued, “When we presented the wider range of ideas to owner Tom Pohlad, he was completely on board, offering his full support and even encouraging us to brainstorm even more activations that would truly underscore our dedication to our fans.”

Considering the team drew only 1.77 million fans last season, this promotion is a clever way to entice more people to come out and experience the ballpark.

But here's where it gets controversial... Some might argue that such low prices could lead to excessive consumption or devalue the overall game-day experience. Is this a sustainable business model, or a short-term fix?

Interestingly, Tom Pohlad was recently approved as the team’s control person during the Owners’ Meetings this week. This comes at a time when the team is looking to turn things around after two consecutive fourth-place finishes. Amidst an ownership restructuring that also saw the addition of three minority investors to help manage existing debt, the Twins and president of business and baseball operations Derek Falvey mutually agreed to part ways. At the time of Falvey’s departure, it was anticipated that Minnesota would bring in an external firm to assist in the search for their next president of business operations, a role that would once again be separate.
